The Back Story

The Back Story

The Artemis Project provides

one-time financial assistance to working families facing temporary hardship.

Whether it's a car repair, utility bill, emergency expense, unexpected setback, or helpful

classes in parenting, career, finance, or healthy living, our goal is simple:

To help working families during times of struggle.

If we've not met, I'm Beth Caldwell.

Today, I work as a business coach, self-help author, speaker, and founder of Circle for Women Worldwide. I have the freedom to travel, work that I love, and two sons who are recent college graduates, something I once wasn't sure would ever be possible.

But there was a time when life looked very different.

Years ago, I found myself in a season of life I never planned for.

Despite doing everything I thought I was supposed to do, education, getting married, buying a home, and raising a family, my life changed dramatically after my divorce.

My young children and I went from a three-bedroom home on a suburban cul-de-sac to a small second-floor apartment in the city. There was no washer or dryer. No air conditioning. Absent father. I was raising two young children on my own while working multiple jobs and trying to keep our lives together.

Despite all my effort, enthusiasm, and optimism, there were times when we struggled with food and housing insecurity.  There were several years of living in constant stress and wondering how we would make it through the month.

  • I know what it feels like to not have enough.

  • I know what it feels like to choose which bill gets paid because there isn't enough money to cover them all.

  • I know what it feels like to face a five-week month and wonder if the groceries will last.

  • I know what it feels like to be embarrassed by your circumstances and ashamed to ask for help.

I also know the incredible impact that one act of kindness can make.

I'll never forget the woman who showed up at my door with a week's worth of fresh groceries. I remember applying for neighborhood grants to help cover rent. One month, I sold my ex-husband's wedding band to pay the utility bills.

Those moments stayed with me.

As my career grew and my financial situation improved, I learned something important. Many of the challenges that once felt like emergencies became manageable once I had a savings account.

Money doesn't solve every problem, but it can create stability.

And when stability is missing, even small setbacks can become major crises.

That's why I created The Artemis Project.

The project began quietly in 2020 when I started helping families facing unexpected financial challenges. Some needed help with childcare. Others needed assistance with utility bills, car repairs, medical equipment, or essential household expenses. For years, I funded requests personally whenever I could.

My sons and I were once the family that needed help.

Today, we have the privilege of helping others.

There comes a point where a mission can become something bigger than one small family. Today, I'm inviting others to join me.

Together, we're building a sustainable fund that will provide one-time assistance to families experiencing temporary financial hardship. Sometimes all it takes is help with a car repair, utility bill, medical expense, childcare cost, or unexpected household emergency to prevent a difficult situation from becoming overwhelming.

→This is not a long-term assistance program.

✓ It's a bridge.

✓ A helping hand during a difficult season.

✓ A reminder that none of us are meant to carry life's challenges alone.

The goal is to establish a donor-advised fund that will allow us to provide ongoing support to families in need. Through affiliate partnerships, community support, and special fundraising initiatives, we are building a fund designed to provide meaningful assistance month after month.

In phase one, the vision is to provide up to $2,500 each month to help families navigate temporary hardship and regain their footing. Phase two is $5,000 each month, and phase three is $10,000 each month. In addition to financial support, all families will be welcome to take part in financial literacy, homebuying, parenting, healthy living and cooking classes.

Because sometimes people don't need a handout.

They simply need a bridge.

The Vision

The Artemis Project

Helping Working Families Through Life's Unexpected Challenges

Currently, our goal is to establish a donor-advised fund that provides ongoing support to families experiencing temporary financial hardship. Assistance is available to qualified applicants regardless of gender, race, religion, family structure, or background.

Situations such as:

  • Utility shutoff notice

  • Emergency car repair

  • Childcare expense

  • Medical equipment

  • Rent assistance

  • School supplies

  • Diapers and formula

Families can apply securely online, with timely review and compassionate support.

We'll provide financial or other assistance every month to qualified applicants.  Financial literacy, homebuying, parenting, career advice, healthy living, and cooking classes are free and open to all.

How can you help?

→ Every purchase.

→ Every donation.

→ Every partnership.

Helps move us closer to that goal.

Help Fill  the Gaps for Working Families

Together, we can help bridge the gap between crisis and stability.

Whether you shop through a partner link, share this page with a friend, or make a contribution in the future, you become part of a community that believes no family should have to face hardship alone.
